SQR1

summary:
In the article "Understanding Composing", Sondra Perl really emphasizes on the ideas of "felt sense" and "paying attention". Through out my essay i will explain my opinions of Perl's ideas.

Perl's idea of "felt sense" is being able to relate to the topic in such a way that when you write it comes naturally. How do you know if you relate to the topic? The emotions you get once you've put images together. Having no reason to think about what to write next but just going forth with it and writing. Once being able to write natural it makes ur essay so much more relatable. Even though "felt sense" makes it easier for the writer to write, you still have to think of how the reader will relate to it.

"Paying attention" should allow you to stay on point with the same topic. Wondering of to other topics in your passage is getting distracted. This will hurt you giving your readers trouble in understanding what you mean. To notice if your loosing focus on the topic go back and read what you've written and see if it all makes sense.

question: do you have to search for a "felt sense"?

response:
Many times a "felt sense" shouldn't have the need to be searched. Yet search for what you have in common with the topic does help. In such ways allowing you to feel more comfortable writing about the topic.
